Akira Yamaoka presents single “Revolución”
The awesome Akira Yamaoka is due to perform in Mexico next month.
November 10th - Guadalajara
November 15th - DF
The tickets are on sale on this website http://bandtastic.me/vcon/
But one very interesting detail that has escaped to many is the fact that, with this live, he is presenting his new single “Revolución”.
This single, according to the concert site, contains 3 brand new songs in Spanish. This single can be acquired through special packs that include of course, the concert ticket too. Plus, this single also comes signed by him.
We already read some bits of the lyrics and also heard some of the recording of the new songs, all posted on his Facebook community page.
In these songs, with a classic Silent Hill style, take part Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Troy Baker, who make together with Akira, the fan-named “Silent Hill band”.
More info about Yamaoka’s recent activities here http://www.musicjapanplus.jp/news/1/18422/akira-yamaoka-new-album-performance-in-mexico-and-remix-for-dir-en-greys-rinkaku/
I am dying to get my hands on this single, and, as I can’t go, I am trying my best to get a Mexican friend to go in my place so that I can get this single…

As you may know, last weekend I met Akira Yamaoka. I interviewed him, and here it is!
This was made with the questions that I received from the fans. Note that not all of them are included since I didn’t have much time. So I chose the most interesting ones.
Please enjoy!

I went to the event as a Yamaoka fan, as fan of his work. But what I found there was someone who was super humble and down to earth, he is the sweetest person EVER. So now you could kinda say that I also love him as a person. He is seriously out of this planet.
This is us after I had interviewed him. He was great all the time. I was pleasantly surprised because, you know, as a Jrock reporter I’ve always heard about other musicians with a massive group of people around them, and they can’t possible work without these people’s attentions. Like, lots of managers, photographers, etc.
But Yamaoka is not like that. He doesn’t realize how much of a personality he is. He just came to Spain as if he were on holiday, even with his family members attending the events he was involved in, and he was always talking to everyone without any other company than his translator-manager who was also super nice.
He was always very patient. Never said “no” to a picture or an autograph. He would please every one of his fans and always with a smile on his face. That is how he is.
And it was my first time interviewing anyone EVER, and I was very nervous but both his translator and him made it feel so, so easy. I am seriously looking forward to working with them again. They are such amazing persons.
If I have to say something, his amazing guitar skills are only par with his amazing value as person. I guess you get the idea.
So I did the interview but because I was given a limited amount of time, I chose 7 questions instead of the original 16 I had prepared. In the next days I will upload it to the website of Music Japan Plus, and of course I will link to it through here. I will also upload a report about his concert.
In the meantime, feel free to send me questions! =D
